The Killing

To be honest, when I first saw the commercials for this TV show I thought it looked boring. But then I watched the review on TRS and decided to give it a shot. I just watched the pilot and was blown away. It's amazing. I feel like the theme of the whole episode was expectations. Expect one thing and something else happens. Characters I expected to be one way where not. Even the camera work was a little different from what's expected.

I'm usually a sucker for realism in my stories. I loved The Sopranos because of how true it felt. But this doesn't exactly feel true to life. This is a mystery with twists and turns that don't really happen in real life. But I'm fine with that. The characters feel real. In these hyper-gritty events, they react normally. With fear and confession.

I've only seen the first episode of it, so I can't really judge the whole series. But if it continues along the same line, I think I'm going to be hooked.
